Experience the return of Tasting Notes from the Streets with Emmy- and James Beard–nominated host Jermaine “The Wolf of Wine” Stone — a monthly digital and live event series where every episode pairs iconic foods from the hood with fine wines from around the world. Each episode brings together storytelling, culture, and community, followed by an in-person event where guests can taste the same pairing featured on screen. Hopefully, we’ll be coming to your city soon.
In this new episode, Jermaine explores International Barbecue through the lens of Lambrusco, Italy’s vibrant sparkling red wine — pairing it with Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Korean Spicy Wings, and American BBQ Ribs.
Then, on Black Friday, the story comes to life at Omar’s Kitchen in NYC with an exclusive dining experience where guests can taste the pairing straight from the screen: Lambrusco & Jerk Chicken.
This fusion of wine, food, and hip-hop culture celebrates flavor, place, and rhythm — bridging global barbecue traditions and Italian terroir through the spirit of the streets.
GRILLED CHEESE x BURGUNDY
All good things come to an end…prepare yourselves for some of our finest work. This is our last TASTING NOTES FROM THE STREETS! But what better way to go out than a grilled cheese and Burgundy pairing with @drinkdujac on the reds @lafon.dom on the whites and #michlinstar chef @rotisserieduchambertin on the Grilled Cheese. And don’t get it twisted. It’s a visual AND event series, and we will continue Tasting Notes From The Streets events around the globe even after this last episode. Grand opening, grand closing…. From our first episode to our final We really did take it from the Bronx to Burgundy
Cheeseburgers x Bordeaux
This episode of Tasting Notes From The Streets the France takeover continues as Jermaine takes it from the Bronx to Bordeaux, with him not only in the streets, but also in the kitchen of the Château! But this ain’t any castle, this epic pairing of Cheeseburgers and Bordeaux takes place at First Growth legend Château Lafite. He links with international director Jean-Sebastian and in-house Chef Jean-Michel to pair the iconic 2001 vintage with cheeseburgers prepared directly on the wood fire of the kitchen in the heart of the home of the de Rothschild family. Rumour has it that even the Baron enjoys a burger on occasion.
Vada Pao x Canadian Gamay
We’re back in the streets! In this episode Jermaine and Terrance venture to Rowdy Rooster in the East Village of NYC to get some hot takes on pairing Canadian Gamay with Indian street food classic vada pao. Fortunately they’ve got Gurvinder Bhatia, Editor of Quench Magazine on deck, to make sure they’ve got the insider look at what makes Gamay from Ontario so special, and why it goes so well with this carb-on-carb snack, specially prepared for the team by chef Chintan Pandya. Huge thanks to Rowdy Rooster (part of The Unapologetic Food Group) for hosting us, and to the team from the Wine Marketing Association of Ontario for providing us with footage of the vineyards.
